From Dec 2019 to May 2020 I visited three separate emergency rooms due to bleeding in my throat which was unexplainable. I was sent home each time with antibiotics. In the summer of 2020 I finally got a biopsy of a mass that was growing in my throat. I was diagnosed with HPV Cancer. The amazing team at Sunnybrook, diagnosed and then developed a treatment plan that included a combination of Chemotherapy and Radiation. I was required to get bloodwork to keep track of how my body was doing with the treatment. The lab saved my life as they looked at my tumor and kept me alive monitoring my blood work regularly.
Three years later I am doing great. Thank you lab professionals.
