MLPAO CEO Michelle Hoad joined Ottawa at Work with Patricia Boal to discuss how the Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (MLPAO) will support Ontario's healthcare workforce through a new provincial investment. The MLPAO is receiving $1.49 million as part of a $10.9 million funding initiative from the Ontario government designed to help workers prepare for careers in healthcare, with a particular focus on medical laboratory professionals.
During the conversation, Hoad highlighted how this investment will help strengthen the medical laboratory workforce in Ottawa and across Ontario by supporting education, training, and career pathways for future professionals. The funding is expected to help address workforce shortages, increase capacity within the healthcare system, and ensure patients continue to receive timely access to high-quality diagnostic testing and care.
