A new week brings new momentum—and today, we have more good news to announce.
We are pleased to announce the finalization of an agreement with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (NSCMLT), expanding certification opportunities for Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician (MLA/T) students in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. In addition, the NSCMLT will now recognize MLPAO certified individuals for practice within Nova Scotia. This means that students trained in Ontario who successfully complete the MLPAO exam will be eligible to work as Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technicians in Nova Scotia as well.
This collaboration enhances mobility, supports workforce needs, and creates new opportunities for students and employers across both provinces. Importantly, it also helps address the ongoing shortage of medical laboratory professionals in Nova Scotia by increasing the number of qualified, certified MLA/Ts entering the workforce.
The MLPAO works tirelessly to find solutions and build strong relationships, and we are proud to announce this new partnership with the NSCMLT. It is refreshing to collaborate with like‑minded organizations that are equally committed to working hard and finding meaningful solutions for lab professionals.
