The MLPAO monitors and reviews any proposed legislative changes that will affect the laboratory profession and responds in the best interests of its membership. This includes communications with the Ontario Ministry of Health, Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities, educators, employers, and other stakeholders.

The MLPAO:

  • Visits laboratories across the province to understand the challenges that lab professionals are experiencing.

  • Works with schools and lab programs to increase the profile of the profession.

  • Celebrates Medical Lab Week in Ontario.

The Board of Directors, which is a representation of the membership across the province, meet quarterly to discuss issues and make recommendations on how to impact the profession.
