MLPAO Hometown Heroes celebrates medical laboratory professionals working together as a community. We’ll be looking for video submissions from “hometowns” (or home cities!) across Ontario.

 

This initiative acknowledges the importance of the home-game advantage, the extra boost of support you get when you’re with your local fans.  Contestants will submit a 5-min video about medical laboratory professionals in your region sharing the spirit of your community—your laboratory networks and the friends, family, healthcare teams, and members of the public who support you.

We will share more criteria soon, but we will be looking for videos that highlight a diversity of voices. Collaboration is essential—please work together with at least 3+ local laboratory facilities in your network for your submission—public, private, public health, smaller hospitals, etc.

We will publish every video we receive on our social media to highlight your hometown, but we will select 4 winners through 2022. These Hometown Heroes will receive a special member appreciation event. CEO Michelle Hoad will come to visit your town for an outdoor celebration. There will be hot chocolate, there will be toques for all medical laboratory professionals who attend, there will be music. Together, we’ll honour the hard work of medical laboratories with our local government, media, colleagues, friends, partners, kids, and communities.
